         A graduate from  P.R. Govt. Degree College, Kakinada; P.G. from Andhra University, Waltair; Ph.D. (Systematics)  from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur; served as Research Scholar (CSIR-JRF/SRF), Department of Botany,  Andhra and Acharya Nagarjuna Universities; as Research AssociateBotanical Survey of  India, Southern Circle, Coimbatore; as Scientist-B in JNTBRI, Palode, Thiruvananthapuram; Lecturer, Reader and Professor in Kakatiya University, Warangal; operated minor and major central (5-each) projects; guided 16-Ph.D. and 5-M.Phil. students; authored 6-books; edited 7-books; published 163 papers in national and internationally reputed journals; visited and worked at  Missouri  Botanical Garden, St.  Louis, New York Botanical Garden, New York and Royal Botanical Garden, Kew (1987); served as Head and ChairmanBoard of Studies in Botany and as MemberBoard of Studies in Environmental Sciences. Awarded Professor V.V. Sivarajan Gold Medal for outstanding work in Plant Taxonomy; honoured with Hybanthus vatsavayae C.S. Reddy in J. Econ. Tax. Bot. 25: 219. 2001 and  Meliola vatsavayai Hosag. & Riju in Indian J. Sci. & Tech. 2(6): 25. 2009.
