Doctorate in Forest Botany from Forest Research University (FRI), Dehra Dun. Awarded with ‘Schlich Prize’ in the year 2005 for the best scientific article in India. Domain expert for Indian Council for Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Govt. India for its Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Surveys.   Created India’s first Ethnomedicinal Garden with more than 1500 species of medicinal plants in Bangalore. Pioneer in landscaping gardens with native medicinal plants. Standardized germination protocols/ propagation techniques for more than 500 species including Red Listed medicinal plants. Conducted many extensive and intensive botanical surveys in many states of India and identified several species of medicinal plants and documented ethnobotanical information. Built capacity for the staff of Medicinal Plant Conservation Parks (MPCPs) in the states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu in identification, collection and preservation of medicinal plants, sustainable collection of propagules, nursery techniques and mode of conservation.  Given awareness programmes on medicinal plants for more than 50,000 school and  College students, from various states of India. Disseminated the importance of our traditional systems of medicines and medicinal plants through several exhibitions (Footfall so far, more than 20 lakhs). Published one book “Secrets of Ethnomedicinal Garden”, published by Ministry of Environment and Forest, New Delhi and 65-papers in international, national and local journals.
