Graduate, post graduate and doctorate from UAS, Bangalore. Worked as Research Assistant from 1980 to 1983; Assistant Professor from 1983 to 1993 in UAS, Bangalore. Worked as Agronomist from 1993 to 2000; Chief Scientist from 2000 to 2011; Professor from 2011 to 2013 and Dean in UAS, Dharwad. Now working as Dean of Post Graduate Studies from 2013 onwards in University of Horticultural Science, Bagalkot. Guided 8- PG Diploma; 4- M.Sc., 2-Ph.D.  Students. Conducted  16- Orientation programmes to farmers; delivered 23-lectures as a resource person; operated several research projects on Resource characterization, Rain water management, Crops and Cropping Systems, Crop Improvement/PVS, Integrated nutrient management, Energy management, Alternate land use systems, etc. Technology transfer was in: Terrace Level Practices, Inter Terrace Management Practices, Water Harvesting and Recycling, Crop and Cropping Systems, Crop Improvement, Oil Seeds, Pulses, Cereals, Sericulture, Integrated nutrient management, Energy management, Alternate land use systems, etc. Chaired in several committees. Published 13-books, chapters in 15-books and 32- research papers; edited 3-books and a manual of Training Programme on dryland Agriculture. Attended about 50-national and international conferences; written about 50-popular articles; operated 10-externally funded projects. Visited North and South Australia.  Best Ph. D thesis award to his Ph.D student Dr. G. S. Yadahalli  by the Indian Society of Agronomy, IARI, New Delhi.  As a Co-Research scientist has received a prestigious Vasantha Rao-Naik National Award for Research Applications in Dry land Agriculture, for having associated with AICRP on arid legumes received Choudhary Devilal Outstanding AICRP Centre Award, Again received Chaudhary Devilal Outstanding on All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Dryland Agriculture and Cash Incentive Award by the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad for Solving the Problems of farming community. Procured the World Medal of Freedom Governing Board of Editors of the American Biographical Institute during the 6th February, 2006;  Basavajyoti State Award by Sri Basaveshwar Karmaveera Kala Sahitya Samskruti Vedike, Aheri of Bijapur Taluka during the year 2009.
